Children in Need
As well as working with youngsters to improve self-esteem and train Peer Mentors (children who mentor other children and help them gain confidence), Safety Net also receive much needed funding from Children in Need to run a wide range of activities.
These activities range from after school groups to specific events run in the school holidays which have included: Adventures in the Woods, Windsurfing, Drama workshops, Arts & Crafts days and Cooking amongst many others.
Our Activities Co-ordinator Katie recently gave an interview to BBC Radio Sussex about this project, and how the children and parents have benefitted from this funding from Children in Need.
She was joined by two children who attend the activities as well as their mum who explains why having this available is so important to them all. Have a listen below….
